Nokia N82 CE version...

So Nokia finally wanted the N82 prototype back. Damn it.

But good thing they let me have a consumer edition version to play with for a while, extending my time with one of my favourite devices, ever. There's really nothing new to report. It functions the same as the prototype I've been using for months now.

The only differences are that I have the full package now, which includes the box and all it's contents, and that it is a titanium white one.

Since there's nothing new to write about, I'll just post some pictures of the unboxing process. Enjoy.

It comes with a 2GB card in my country, and probably everywhere else

It's titanium white

Putting a picture of a girl to try and distract people from noticing that keypad upon opening the box

Headset and the phone are on the first tier of the box

It's a different headset from the N95 (which I've been using with the proto N82)

Without the picture of the girl, you notice everything. It's shiny and new with all the plastic protectors still intact

The colour is actually very similar to the original silver one I was using. It's now just a bit whiter at the back and the faux brushed-metal part that houses the camera module is of a slightly darker shade. More boy racer. The fronts are identical.

On the 2nd tier of the box, you can find the rest of the stuff: charger, micro USB cable, TV out cable, install DVD, warranty card, manual...

And of course, more literature to persuade you to part with more money

I still love it!

Dear Chickenbackside,

I too have a spanking new N82! I just updated the firmware to the newest v11.0.117. To be honest apart from the font being slightly smaller on the stand-by menu I haven't noticed anything different. I was hoping with your comprehensive overview of the device you'd be able to tell us what changes have been made in this new firmware. Thanks!

Yeah tell us more about the changes in newest firmware:)

Hi all N82 users,

Do you experience any hang + restart when plug in or un-plug the headphone jack ?

also do you think the built in music player has a bug ? as when I use it for quite a long time (1 day - 2 days on so on) the phone is suddenly hang and the followed by restarting itself.

Above matters happened with both firmware

Pls share your comments....
Thank you

Really appreciate these well thought out hands out reviews. I'm going to be upgrading from my 6230 and the N82 caught my eye. I prefer this form factor to sliders or flips.
Does the less bright N82 screen have any practical negative effect, say, when watching vids, or is it actually better considering power consumption?
I'll probably wait a few months for Nokia to administer some hardware tweaks. I'm looking forward to the N82i.

Heyy there CBS. . . I Liked your review of the N82. .Also i wanted to ask sumthing. . .I have the silver N82 with the old firmware 10.0.046. The phone is very fast and responsive but it hanged two times due to 3rd party applications. . and restarted Atleast 6 times when i plugged or unplugged the headset but suprising the problem vanished, And I am happy , it is resolved. . .. But a funny thing happened My Help software which as you know Comes loaded with Nokia Symbian. . Whenever I go to Podcasting help, the screen comes back to the the stanby screen also when i go to the video centre. . .It is stable for 5 seconns and then the screen goes back to the standby. . . I am not saying that This software Help or the video centre is impotant or that I need them. . . Its nokia symbian apps and should work properly. . . Apart from this i have No problems at all. . .
